If you’re passing through Revelstoke on a road trip, this little mountain town is definitely way more than a gas station stop. Whether you’re there for a few hours or staying overnight, these easy and scenic spots make it a fun place to explore without needing a big itinerary. I’ve been here a couple times but only spent a short time here and I’d absolutely recommend.
Here are a few of my favourite things to do in Revelstoke if you’re short on time but still want to see (and eat) something great.

1. Ride the Mountain Coaster at Revelstoke Resort
If you want a quick dose of adrenaline with a view, the Pipe Mountain Coaster at Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a fun little thrill. It’s basically a toboggan-style coaster you control yourself as you wind down the hill. You can go as slow or fast as you want, and the scenery is gorgeous. Just keep in mind it’s only open seasonally, usually June-September.
Tip: You can buy tickets on-site or online ahead of time. The ticket includes a sightseeing ride on the gondola! There are many other activities at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort as well to check out!

2. Walk Along the Columbia River Lookout
This is a super easy, relaxing stop with great mountain views. Park near Centennial Park and follow the path toward the wooden bridge and riverfront. It’s a calm, photogenic spot that makes for a good leg stretch, especially if you’ve been driving for a while.

3. Stroll Through Downtown Revelstoke
Downtown Revelstoke is cute and super walkable. There are murals, local shops, historic storefronts, and cozy little cafés. It’s not huge, but it has that small-town charm that makes you want to slow down a bit. I love finding somewhere to grab a coffee and wander.

4. Bridge Creek Falls + Kovach Park
This is great if you want to squeeze in a nature fix without going far. Kovach Park has picnic tables, a small playground, and a short, shaded trail that leads you to Bridge Creek Falls. It’s not a big waterfall, but it’s a nice walk and a peaceful spot to take a break.

Where to Eat in Revelstoke
La Baguette
Cozy, casual, and full of good food. Whether you’re after a coffee, sandwich, or a warm bowl of something after a hike or ski, La Baguette has it. I had a panakam iced tea and a croissant that was the size of my head. They were both delicious!

Big Eddy Pub
A little outside of downtown but worth the short drive. Big Eddy Pub has a laid-back, friendly vibe with good burgers and local beer on tap. It’s quite popular and has a real community feel. You have to try the Big Eddy Caesar!

The Sugar Shack
If you’re craving something sweet, this is a fun stop. The Sugar Shack has Canadian treats, baked goods, ice cream, candy, and more! I had lemon lavender ice cream and it was 10/10.

Final Thoughts
Even if you’re just in town for a few hours, there are still plenty of fun and scenic things to do in Revelstoke without needing a whole plan. From easy nature walks and riverside views to good food and quick little adventures, it’s the kind of place that leaves you wanting to come back for more.
On your way to or from Revelstoke, why not check out some lesser-known hikes near Banff? I’ve rounded up three scenic ones that are quiet, doable solo, and worth the detour.
