Hi, I’m Leah.

I’m Leah, a Canadian teacher currently taking a year off to solo travel around the world!

I took my first international trip when I was two months old, but my first real solo trip was Costa Rica at 21. A few years later, I packed up my life and moved to Bahrain to teach internationally. That turned into three years living abroad, a lot more travel, and the realization that I’m probably never going to be very good at staying in one place.

In August 2026, I left Canada for my biggest trip yet: 10+ months of solo travel through Central America, South America, Africa, Europe, and wherever else I inevitably decide to add along the way.

shediditsolo is where I document what that actually looks like! Where I stay, what things cost, what’s worth doing, what I’d skip, how I get around, and all the random things I end up figuring out as I go.

I’m not trying to convince anyone that you need to quit your job and travel long-term, or move across the world. I just want to make it a little easier to plan your own trips by sharing what I learn from mine.
