she did it solo.
Hi, I’m Leah.
Travel has basically been in my blood since before I could walk. My first international trip was at two months old, which honestly explains a lot about who I turned out to be.
I grew up in Alberta, Canada, did my first solo trip to Costa Rica at 21, and somewhere between that and packing up my entire life to move to Bahrain at 24, I realized that living abroad and exploring the world wasn’t just something I wanted to do occasionally. It was just how I wanted to live.
Since then I’ve taught internationally, solo traveled through the GCC and beyond, and spent a lot of time figuring out exactly the kind of life I want to build. Spoiler: it involves warm weather, good food, a lot of flights, and absolutely zero Canadian winters if I can help it.
Right now I’m based in Alberta (temporarily, always temporarily) and I’m currently counting down the days until August, when I leave for a 10+ month solo trip around the world. Central America, South America, East Africa, Morocco, and more. Just me, my backpack, and a very full Google doc of plans that will definitely change approximately one million times.
This blog is where I share the real stuff. Not just the pretty photos and the highlight reel, but the honest experiences, the practical tips, and the messy beautiful reality of traveling and living abroad solo.
Because if I can do it, genuinely, so can you.
Follow along. It’s going to be a good one. 🌍
