1. Visit BARC (Bahrain Animal Rescue Centre)
This is not your average animal rescue. BARC is home to hundreds of friendly (and adoptable!) dogs and cats, and they love visitors. Come cuddle some kitties, take dogs on walks, or just hang out with animals that will melt your heart.
🧡 Why I love it: Instant serotonin. Also, it’s nice to do something meaningful and give back. Check BARC’s instagram for the most updated drop-in hours!
📍Location: Hamala
💡 Tip: Wear comfy clothes—you will get cuddled by happy dogs and cats.

2. Take a Cultural Walking Tour of Muharraq (with KA Tours)
Want to feel like you time-traveled and learned something? Head to the historic town of Muharraq with KA Tours. You’ll walk through traditional Bahraini homes, sip Arabic coffee, learn about pearl diving, and hear stories that make the city come alive.
🧡 Why I love it: It’s the perfect intro to Bahraini culture—and KA Tours knows their stuff. Khalid is super engaging (and the snack breaks are a nice bonus).
📍Location: Muharraq
💡 Tip: Wear breathable clothes and walking shoes—shade is limited, and so is your will to walk in 40°C heat.

3. Explore Bahrain Bay
This is modern Bahrain at its finest. Rent a Dough Boat and float around with snacks and music, or take a sunset stroll along the waterfront. You can even rent paddle boards with Beach Culture and glide around the bay—ideal if you’re craving a little core workout with your skyline views. Pop into Avenues Mall for AC, shopping, or waterfront dining. It’s a vibe.
🧡 Why I love it: That combo of city skyline and sea breeze is unbeatable. Also: floating picnic. Need I say more?
📍Location: Bahrain Bay
💡 Tip: Book dough boats ahead of time—especially on weekends.

4. Day Trip to Al Dar Islands
Just a short boat ride from the main island, Al Dar feels like a tropical escape. Think beach huts, boat drinks, jet skis, and warm turquoise water. It’s casual, fun, and has a “no shoes required” energy I can get behind.
🧡 Why I love it: A full beach day that feels like a mini vacation—without needing to hop on a plane.
📍Boat departs from Sitra
💡 Tip: Bring your own snacks or cooler unless you want to pay extra for basics. (Also, sunscreen. Always sunscreen.)
5. Feed Baby Camels at the Royal Camel Farm
Yes, this is a real thing. And yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds. This low-key farm is home to dozens of camels, including the fluffiest babies. You can walk right up and feed them (make sure to ask), and it’s totally free!
🧡 Why I love it: Zero pretension, maximum cuteness. Great for kids or grown-ups who just want to hug a camel.
📍Location: Janabiya
💡 Tip: Go in the morning when it’s cooler and the camels are more active.

6. Hit the Beach
Bahrain may be small, but it still knows how to do beach days right. If you’re not staying at a resort, grab a day pass to The Art Hotel for pool + beach access, or chill on Reef Island’s public beach (for a small fee) (bonus: skyline views at sunset).
🧡 Why I love it: Bahrain’s waters are warm and shallow—a dream for lazy floats and sunbathing.
📍Reef Island or Amwaj
💡 Tip: Bring a speaker, a good book, and maybe a fancy beach towel. You’re on island time now.
7. Go-Karting at Bahrain International Circuit (aka F1 Central)
If you’ve got a need for speed, this is your moment. The same complex that hosts the Bahrain Grand Prix also offers public go-karting on a professional-grade track. It’s fun, fast, and surprisingly affordable.
🧡 Why I love it: You get to feel like a Formula 1 driver!
📍Location: Sakhir
💡 Tip: Closed-toe shoes required! Bonus if you visit during F-1!

8. Dinner, Drinks & Dancing in Adliya
Adliya is Bahrain’s artsy, edgy nightlife hub. It’s got it all: swanky rooftop lounges, dive bars, amazing international restaurants, and street art around every corner. Start with dinner, end with dancing—your call.
🧡 Why I love it: It’s fun, walkable, and has something for every vibe—chill cocktails or full-on club nights.
📍Location: Adliya
💡 Tip: Find a restaurant on Block 338 for dinner, then bar-hop from there.
9. Go for Brunch
Bahrain does brunch very well. Whether you’re into all-you-can-eat hotel spreads or casual hangouts with mimosas, there’s something here for you. McGettigan’s has a party brunch vibe, Sofitel does luxe seaside brunches, and Calexico nails the chill outdoor energy. Pay a fee (usually around 30bd – less for non-alcoholic), and get bottomless drinks and food for 4-5 hours.
🧡 Why I love it: It’s basically a social event disguised as a meal. Plus: bottomless anything is my love language.
📍Various locations
💡 Tip: Book ahead—Friday brunches are a big deal and fill up fast.
10. Visit the Bahrain National Museum (And Take the Boat Ride!)
This is the place to learn about Bahrain’s deep history—from ancient Dilmun civilization to pearl diving and modern art. Bonus: You can take a traditional boat ride from the museum marina and sip a fresh lemon & mint drink while you float. Pure serenity.
🧡 Why I love it: I walked in expecting a quick visit. I stayed two hours. It’s that good.
📍Location: Manama
💡 Tip: Go in the evening and catch the museum lit up against the water—it’s gorgeous.
11. Make Your Own Mosaic Art at Mosaic House
Get creative and a little messy at Mosaic House, where you can design and make your own mosaic masterpiece. They provide all the supplies, so just bring your imagination—and maybe a camera to capture your inner artist at work. If you’re looking for a blend of art, architecture, and absolute wow-factor, the Mosaic House is your spot. It’s a private home that’s been transformed into a masterpiece of mosaic art—every surface covered in shimmering tiles, colorful designs, and intricate patterns.

💡 Tip: Book a session in advance to snag a spot—it’s a popular activity!
12. Splash Around at Lost Paradise of Dilmun Waterpark
When the heat hits peak Bahrain levels, there’s no better way to cool off than a day at this massive waterpark. From lazy rivers to twisting slides and wave pools, Lost Paradise of Dilmun is fun for families, friends, or just you if you’re feeling bold.
🧡 Why I love it: It’s one of the biggest waterparks in the Middle East, and it’s genuinely a blast.
