1. Wine and Cider Tasting
Lake Country is home to some beautiful wineries and cideries, but Frind Winery is one of my favourites. It’s the only beachfront winery in North America (yes, really). You can sip a chilled rosé with your toes basically in the sand. It’s casual, walk-in friendly, and their patio views are top-tier.
For something a little more low-key (and kid-friendly), Folktale Cider is a cute little spot with picnic vibes, yummy cider, and even a play area for kids. It feels more like hanging out in someone’s backyard than a commercial operation, in the best way.

2. Scenic Views from Knox Mountain Lookout
Technically this is just outside Lake Country (in Kelowna), but it’s so close, and so worth it. You can either hike or drive to the top of Knox Mountain Park for panoramic views over Okanagan Lake and downtown Kelowna. There are a few trails if you want to stretch your legs, but honestly, the lookout alone is worth the detour.

3. Lake Days: Okanagan, Wood & Kalamalka
You have three gorgeous lakes to choose from, and they’re all amazing in their own way. You can rent paddleboards or kayaks, hit the beach, or just go for a swim.
- Kalamalka Lake is known for its turquoise waters that look tropical in the sun.
- Wood Lake is more laid-back and family friendly.
- Okanagan Lake is your classic activity packed lake with tons of public beaches.
If you’re craving sunshine and water, this is the place.

4. U-Pick & Fruit Stands
One of my favourite things about summer in the Okanagan? Fruit season. You’ll pass tons of roadside stands selling fresh cherries, peaches, plums, and more. Or, head to a U-Pick orchard for that wholesome experience. It’s way more fun than a grocery run, and let’s be honest, everything tastes better straight from the tree.
Tip: Bring cash and a cooler if you’re planning to stock up!

5. Hang with Kangaroos
This one’s a little wild… literally. Kangaroo Creek Farm lets you get up close with kangaroos, wallabies, capybaras, and more. You can even hold some of them (if they’re feeling social). It’s a unique experience you wouldn’t expect in BC, and definitely one of the most memorable things to do in Lake Country.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re sipping wine by the lake, picking cherries under the sun, or petting a kangaroo, there’s no shortage of unique, easy, and fun activities in Lake Country, BC. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down in the best way, and somehow leaves you wanting to stay longer.
